Buell is the first to implement a full floating perimeter brake on a production motorcycle.

Not all perimeter brakes are created equal. Most others just bolt solid to the rim, protrude beyond the edge of the rim into harm's way, and get all warped and distorted if used aggressively enough to really heat them up. They also transfer a lot more heat into the rim. None of that is good.

In addition . . . Buell succeeded where others had failed in redesigning the wheel . . the perimeter brake is only part of the system.

The key is it's mounting and the wheel.

Advantage Buell! : D

Don'cha just dig the edit function. joker

And it's weight savings! Seven pounds lighter than most of the competitions front wheel/brake combinations.
