  FWIW -- after a bit of diagnosing the "whoosh" sound coming from the front end, and determining it wasn't the old, perfectly good disk, nor the old, perfectly good pads, nor even the new, perfectly good disk and pads i recently bought from American Sport Bike, I found this convenient way of turning the front fender mounts into a "wheel truing" stand, and finally determined the source of the irritating sound. found two high sides on rotor side of wheel. ordered the silver, "stardust" wheel from Glendale HD. they told me that these wheels are "pending obsolete." i point this out because those of us who prefer the silver wheels are about to find that they may not be available any longer. for now, two to three week delivery time on this particular wheel. Bartels and Skip Fordyce pointed out a dealer in Cincinnati "shows" they have one set in stock. | ||

you sure it's the color that will be obsolete,and not the wheel design itself, since the 2010 wheels were re-designed for the new, improved bearings? | ||

not "sure" of anything except that i asked about the new & improved wheels / bearings and was told that silver was not listed as a current / future color. |
