After seeing Barnett's new black "Stealth" cables, I got the idea for a black brake line, since I have to get mine relocated per the safety recall. I have searched and searched, does someone make such a thing, or am I dreaming? |

Looks doable, just a matter of getting the right line or a custom line. |

Wow, thanks Froggy! Now here is another question, what is the length of the updated brake line for a Scg? |

Goodridge's Ebony line. The lines are black SS, and you can even get the banjo fittings black anodized SS too. Best price I could find was about $42 + shipping for a universal 21" rear brake line + banjo fittings which was cheaper than the Galfers I looked at and the custom Spiegler lines. Various online parts retailers like BikeBandit carry the Goodridge parts. I'd have to look back to find which place had the best price; they were all between $40-$50. |

Well, thanks for the suggestions. I priced an all black Goodridge set at J&P and BikeBandit, BB being about $30 cheaper at $67! Adding black banjos and banjo bolts is where it adds up. |

Spiegler also makes nice colored outer covering brake lines (including black). They also have the advantage of swivel fittings. http://www.spieglerusa.com/ |

Thanks, but I ordered. BikeBandit also has an AMA member discount. I forgot to get a Motion Pro Brake Bleeder, but I will probably get that locally when I buy the fluid. Thanks for all the suggestions! |

Found the site! powersportsuperstore.com - their online catalog isn't easy to navigate, but it was the cheapest I could find. Goodridge Shadow 21" line - $25.55 Goodridge Shadow Banjo Fittings ($10.60 x2) - $21.21 Goodridge Shadow Banjo bolt - $7.33 Super Saver Shipping (depends, obvly) - $7.80 ---------------------------------- Total - $61.88 Cheapest I could find for all black SS equipment for the rear brake. The Goodridge "Ebony" series, which is also black but I dont think the fittings are stainless steel, would save you a few bucks. The Shadow series's fittings are "electronically coated" stainless steel. The universal kits allow you to place the banjo at what ever swivel angle you need, then you just tighten the nut down finger tight + 1/4 turn. (Message edited by coops53233 on August 19, 2009) |

Actually, you need to add another bolt, and I measured 24" for the line, but I paid about the same. 3/8 BANJO BOLT BLACK (2) $16.11 35 DEG 3/8" BANJO BLACK $11.65 Goodridge Universal Brake Line 24" $23.45 3/8" STRAIGHT BANJO BLACK $9.85 $69.01 shipped. I went to my local Kawi dealer for a Motion Pro Bleeder, ended up with a Mighty Vac for $40. It barely fit under my jacket (to ride home with, not steal). Now, since I am basically doing the front brake recall, would I have a HD dealer inpect my work and I sign the recall paper? |

Yeah, mine was for the back, hence the shorter length and no need for a 2nd banjo bolt. Question for you - does 3/8" banjo fitting = 10mm banjo fitting for all practical purposes? I was told to look for 10mm banjo fittings, and I know for sure they work. |

As far as I can tell, 10mm is more of the thread size. |
