I parked the bike 2 days ago after a 100 mile ride. This morning I went out to the bike to go for another ride and turn the key : no lights, no fuel pump.

I went down to the dealership and picked up 2 ignition relays and replaced them and the lights came back on, but still no fuel pump. Fuel pump volts are good.

With 19,000 miles on the bike, whats the chance the kill switch is bad? I ordered one anyway, just in case......

It never hurts to cycle everything a few times (ignition switch and kill switch). Sometimes that's enough to get a balky switch working. Also pull and re-seat all the relays, check fuses, wiggle wiring in various locations.

Mine went bad a after my brother dropped it. I had throttlemeister bar-end weights. When the bike fell over the weight of the bike was transfered through the bar-end weight, to the throttle grip into the ignition housing. I couldn't tell until I saw real small cracks in the housing. I took it apart and all the insides of the switch, the parts that kept the switch in place were broke. Luckily I had some leftover parts on had to fix it myself.

I took the whole switch apart and tried cleaning the contacts and putting everything back together but I must have lost some of the small pieces, something just doesnt match up. Good thing I ordered a new switch.

I didnt have BBs in the bar, and I've pulled all the fuses and relays, and re set them. I'll try the new switch when it shows up. Hopefully that was it!
