Wow. thats a can of worms to open I like my D&Don my 9r. If you look at the shootout that American Sportbike did you'll see that there arent really any with much of a HP gain on a 12. Now for the many many differences of opinion.... (Message edited by vortec57 on August 14, 2009) |

Americansportbike.com they have an exhaust shoot out complete with sound clips, very good info. I imagiune it depends on what you want. I have a Drummer and couldn't be happier, others love the spec-ops... |

Okay, here's a few not-quite-as-common exhaust questions then: 1.) Most aftermarket exhausts do away with Buell's servo valve. Doesn't that hinder the bottom end? Seems like Buell went to a lot of trouble to figure that out just to scrap it...? 2.) The stock exhaust serves as a jack point. What do you use when you need to jack it up, if you're needing to work on the swingarm or forks? ~SM |

Sword, my Micron has more bottom end than the stock exhaust. While the valve also helps bottom end, it also was to help get around EPA testing. |

SM, 1) When I switched out my "S" exhaust with a servo for a Drummer without, I personally did not notice a reduction in the bottom/mid range. With this said; I personally am glad that I do not have a servo to go bad. The exhaust environment is a very hot and dirty environment, not one I consider suitable for longevity. 2 With a Drummer, the jack point is still available. |

made my own, sounds pretty good quiet at idle, more mid/top, and sounds like the SE pipes i had on my Nightster. |

I love my VooDoo! more power and sounds great! Valve stays intact on the 12. |

What about for a 9Sx? Mine has a stutter/flat spot right off idle, and no mods. Also, budget is an issue. |

Did you do a home made breather/catch can yet? TPS reset too. (I think I told you that already?) |

Frogster- I think you spoke those words of wisdom to some other tadpole. Any suggestions on materials for a catch can or breather? As an import tuner (car scene) I know some "rice boys" just use a cheap K&N style filter clamped to a valve cover as a breather. (Dumb idea, unless you like oil sprayed all over your engine bay) |

Do some searching, there is a handful of threads about doing it. Long story short, some rubber hose, a T fitting, and then various things can be used for a catch can including a 5hr energy drink bottle. Make sure it has a vent with filter. |

And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack And you may find yourself in another part of the world And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful Wife And you may ask yourself-well...how did I get here? Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down Letting the days go by/water flowing underground Into the blue again/after the moneys gone Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground. And you may ask yourself How do I work this? And you may ask yourself Where is that large automobile? And you may tell yourself This is not my beautiful house! And you may tell yourself This is not my beautiful wife! Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down Letting the days go by/water flowing underground Into the blue again/after the moneys gone Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground. Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was... Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was... Same as it ever was...same as it ever was... Water dissolving...and water removing There is water at the bottom of the ocean Carry the water at the bottom of the ocean Remove the water at the bottom of the ocean! Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down Letting the days go by/water flowing underground Into the blue again/in the silent water Under the rocks and stones/there is water underground. Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down Letting the days go by/water flowing underground Into the blue again/after the moneys gone Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground. And you may ask yourself What is that beautiful house? And you may ask yourself Where does that highway go? And you may ask yourself Am I right? ...am I wrong? And you may tell yourself My god!...what have I done? Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down Letting the days go by/water flowing underground Into the blue again/in the silent water Under the rocks and stones/there is water underground. Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down Letting the days go by/water flowing underground Into the blue again/after the moneys gone Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground. Indeed, my wife and I flew out for a Halloween party there a year or two ago. What a great time. Before that my old college roomy got married there. Always wanted to ride from Boulder to Estes on the bike. |
