OK, so I just wanted to reset the TPS and I know how to do it - have used this program before. I hook it up to the bike and for whatever reason it won't read my values for the throttle - like percentage etc. If I open the throttle the values increase, but it is reading my current values at 0% even though I haven't touched the idle screw yet.(and WOT only goes up to 95%). When I turn the screw in (clockwise) the value goes only to a max of 3.5%, so I know something is wrong. Do I need to hit the TPS reset button before I do anything else? I remember the last time I did this it was showing my values at 5.6% and I could adjust them to 0% and then hit the reset button. Then I tuned it back to 5.4% as it was supposed to be. What about the offline/online icon? Did I miss something there? Want to make sure if I am supposed to be in closed loop or not. Thanks for the help in advance guys. I know it is not complicated, but apparently I have forgotten something between now and the last time I did this. I put a Race ECM in (and the bike was running at too high of an idle for me) - if anyone is wondering why I am resetting the TPS. |

Does the TPS meter move smoothly perhaps indicating a bad tps? Maybe your adjustment screw at the throttle body has something on it or loosened up.Ive reset mine half a dozen times with no issues. After you hit tps reset I think you need to hit the online key tab again. Verify you are online by twisting the throttle and see that the meter goes up. Then set your idle at 5.1% You might get access to your throttle body though just to make sure the cable bracket is tight and the adjustment screw is in tact. |

Johnny, Thanks for the help. I did take off the airbox and checked it all out. The part I forgot was hitting the online tab again. I remember now the last time I did it that I had to do that for whatever reason and then all the values/numbers were present. Damn, I should not be doing this stuff so late at night - my brain gets locked up I will fix it when I get off work. Thanks again... |

Yeah, I've noticed that ECMSpy sometimes kicks itself offline, depending on what you're doing, and you may not notice it. ~SM |
