It is a fair bit quieter, no db data on hand, just my experience with my own pipe. It will not be as quiet as either factory pipe though. |

+1 it helps quite a lot imho, but I ended up taking it out because the rubber gasket of the silencer kept failing (burns up)... BTW, talking about Jardines, anyone else is worried about the exhaust tip pointing the fumes directly onto the rear tire? It's a nifty tire warmer, but it doesn't feel right to me for some reason (oil/gas moisture onto tire = bad)... what do you think? |

Again, no db data but it makes it much better. It did require re-mapping to get it running back where it should be. Without the insert every wheelie made me feel like I was begging every cop withing 1/2 mile to come look for me. I could just be paranoid!? |

If you're worried then look at this! http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/485775.html?1250567153 |

That's scary! You mean you have the Jardine and the exhaust fumes do not touch your tire? How is that possible? You have a different tip? |

I would hope that you aren't spitting enough liquid anything out your exhaust to worry about what's getting on your tire. As far as heat issues, I can cover the tire with my hand at idle and not have heat issues on my hand. Once moving I don't think you would have any problems either with any point on the tire spending most of it's time in fresh air. Friction and carcass flex is what will overheat your tires. |

There's no liquid spitting out of my exhaust, but if you leave your hand there in front of the tip for a couple of minutes while rev_ing up the bike, you will get some moisture (gas/oil) on your hand... is it enough to cause a problem, probably not 99.9% of the time, but you know... I am not overly concerned about it (else I would have done something about it), but if I had the choice I would not point the tip of my exhaust towards my tire... it's just common sense. |
