So...I was riding my '05 XB9SX yesterday and felt some new engine vibrations. Under acceleration, there is a noticeable vibration around 4k that wasn't there before. Under deceleration, I can feel it around 2,500. I recently changed plugs and plug wires, but I don't think that is related. I checked the motor mounts to make sure nothing was loose. It has about 7,500 miles on the odo. I suspect it's fueling related, but not really sure. I may do a TPS reset to see if that helps. Any thoughts? |

Also worth mentioning is that the idle won't remain steady. At startup the idle is steady around 1,050, but after running for a few minutes it bounces between 750-1,000. I've adjusted it a few times, but it still wants to dip to 750. I double checked that the spark plugs are torqued to spec, so there is no loss of compression. |

Yea...try the TPS reset. Believe it or not, you may have gotten some bas gas at your last fillup. Seen it before, first hand. I've found these engines really respond to a little more fuel and some ignition timing increases. I've got an XB12 that has really liked the increases I've made to its maps. Mike |
