I'm having a ridiculous amount of difficulty tracking down the inner diameter of the handlebars on a 07 XB9SX. Does anybody know what it is? I need a barsnake and apparently the closer it fits to the ID the more vibration it will be able to absorb. If nobody can get me an answer I'll just have to buy a pair of calipers to replace the ones I broke in my last garage "swordfight". (Message edited by yachius on August 10, 2009) |

They are 7/8" bars, so the inner diameter would be a tad under that. Try HVMP extra heavy bar ends, they work better than a snake. |

Thanks froggy, I'm actually doing both, can't hurt. I had the bar ends on my last bike (not a Buell) and they only helped a little. Anyway, some 7/8 bars have a 1/8" wall and some have a thinner 5/64" wall. Barsnake makes a model for both sizes but the larger one won't fit into a 1/8 and the smaller one won't be as effective. It looks like I'm going to need to replace those calipers. |
