just got my bike out the shop. The header bolt broke off in the jugg. (WHAT A NIGHTMARE)... anyways on my way home i heard this clicking sound every time i braked. Sounds like its coming from the forks. So i pulled over grab the front brake and pushed down, and there goes that clicking sound again. can anyone tell me whats going on with my bike? |

Put the front tire against a wall or something and compress the forks WITHOUT the front brake. If the click goes away, its the floating rotor. If not, it's something else. The floating rotor makes that noise sometimes. Mine does, and it's fine. |

Could be loose steering bearings. To check, put bike on rear stand, jack up muffler until front forks are off the ground. Grab the forks with both hands from the front, and see if there is any play. There should be absolutely none. If there is play, loosen the lower triple clamp, and tighten the steering bearings to 50 lbs. of torque. Then retighten lower triples. Should be good to go. |

It's one of those two and they've pretty well covered the test procedures. But, double check the exhaust ring clamp to make sure the dealer actually tightened it. |
