A nearby dealer has both a 2008 and 2009 XB9SX, and I can get a pretty good deal on the '08. Are there any differences between the two? If so, anything important? |

The biggest changes are cosmetic. Different color choices, the 08 has a silver frame and forks, the 09 has black frame and forks. |

Also depending on when they were built, the 09 may have the newer style wheel bearings, also the improved clutch cable retainer. Both are negligible items and can be retrofitted cheap should the bike not have the latest one. |

Anything special about the wheel bearings? Were there problems with the old style? |

The old ones were fine, but it well documented, mainly with the Ulysses owners that water can get past the seals and rust the bearings. The black seal bearings have a different seal that prevents this. Also for 2010 Buell changed the rear wheel design to a new setup with totally different bearings. Anyway nothing to worry about and if you so desired can switch the bearings for $40 in parts plus either paying the dealer labor or do it yourself. |

Yep the bearings didnt like the excessive rain water, mud, dirt desert or creek crossings. .... Its not just the ULY crew function testing them off pavement. |
