There was a recal for the '09 1203? Hmm this might be my issues I am having with my 1203. Example...

This morning I rode the bike to work and was locked in the office all day. I came out around 5 started her up to get the ole v-twin some oil flowing and let her warm up... and she started chugging and sputtering. Sounded like she wanted to die. I hopped on her and brought the idle up a tad and it didn't quiet idle right until I started riding a few minutes. it's not an all the time issues, which perplexes me.

Mine is an Scg as well... I say MINE, it's HERS but MINE is in for a repair and should be done this week. : )

Man that little sucker is FUN to ride to. This issue has been good for me to learn about the 1203 and it's quirks...

On the 1125 I learned to remove the noid and on this one I learned that I could remove the muffler servo... although after doing some searches I will also have to reroute breather hoses, change exhausts, buy race ECM AND tune the damned thing... sheesh. or I could buy an emulator but not for 6 bucks like the 1125 resistor plug.

So I ordered a K&N, and I am trying to figure out a decent exhaust, programmable ECM and a tuner... sigh.

With mine when i would run it, it would often backfire if I revved it from idle. (Like sitting at a light and flicking the throttle)

I don't think there was a way to reprogram the ECM on the '09's? But who am I kidding? I know nothing. NOTHING! lol. The only recall that's been out for the 09 has been the front brake line reroute. And I think there's been 2 reflashes. But those aren't recalls.

I gotcha, I thought I typed Re-Cal, trust me I understand the difference between a recalibration offered and a recall campaign.

As for the ECM, exhaust, muffler servo, breather hose reroute... just gotta figure out what would be the best route to take. I plan on hitting Al up for his Catch Can kit *I am a fan of nice looking modifications and I understand I could re-route it myself*

This and the K&N should help the engine breathe a little better and keep some of the crankcase juices away from the air box. The next step will be to delete the muffler servo... that is where the exhaust/ecm dilemma has me stumped.

Sorry to thread jack.

I have the breather mod from asb. Not sure if it does much but it does look cool. As far as bypassing the exhaust servo, are you looking to do that AFTER you get a new exhaust? because depending on which you get, you might not have too. I have a pipe from special ops and the servo stays attached. But if you go to something like drummer, you just need to zip tie it out of the way is all.

I feel kinda bad, with the muffler servo issue... I know and understand WHY it is there... it's a great piece of engineering.

As for the exhaust, I have to get with the misses and see what she wants... which right now is for me to go to sleep. : )
