Hey All, Just purchased an 09 9SX. I'm new to Buell. I purchased the Pit Pass membership giving me 3 years of regular maintenance w/o charge. Is this a regular Harley thing to offer a Pit Pass? Did I make the right choice? How much are you guys paying for your 5,000 and 10,000 mile services? Thanks, S |

That sounds like a dealer specific maintenance plan. How much was it? The 10k services can easily be $500 from the dealer, and 5k intervals in the $250 ballpark. All depends on your area. If you ride a lot, it can be worth it. The 5k services can be done by yourself for the cost of a few quarts of oil and a filter and gasket. 10k is a bit more involved with the fork oil change. |

It cost $1,400 bucks and i got a buell jacket! It also gives me 48 hour service turn around and 10% off on extra parts when I'm in for service. I do put on high mileage. I figured I'll get 4 services within the 3 year contract. I have too many bikes to ride so I won't be putting all my mileage on the Buell. (Message edited by steelerbike on August 02, 2009) |

Okay, Yes, I'm no iron butt rider. I've been averaging 12,000 miles a year and growing. Most of that is commuting miles and maybe one or two long rides a year. I am amazed that some riders only put a 1,000-5,000 miles on in a season. |

It would be cheaper to rent a bike for a weekend once in a while than owning a bike to do 1k miles a year. Perhaps Zipcar can expand to bikes? |

Don't go getting judgmental about other people's lives. Many people would love to ride more, but don't have situations that would allow it. Stay cool. Steelerbike, you have bought it, so now at least you have no worries about servicing for 3 years. Enjoy it, and since it's done, don't sweat over whether it was a great deal or not! |
