I think that is too much $. I got my HID for my truck from HIDgate on Ebay. They have a slim ballast kit and a regular kit. A lot of guys on FullsizeChevy have gotten this kit with good results. It only has one bulb and ballast, I only wanted a HID low. I have the same kit as Hammer, its great, and brighter than the other stuff linked here. I got the optional 50w setup. | ||

8000k, but at 50w it is a little whiter.   I recently got another kit from them in 4300k to put on my car. I love being able to see the reflection off signs in broad daylight  | ||

If you're going to run the 50 watt HID then I would recommend putting it on a relay with it's own power source. I've seen the 50 watt kits listed melt stock wires and truck headlights. | ||

HIDs should be running on relays regardless of wattage. | ||

^^Yes, I know, but most "plug and play" kits don't come with relays. Just an FYI to the OP. | ||

It was clean, but the heat from the HIDs vaporized the shelfs. | ||

BTW, does anyone know what is distinction between car and moto HID kits? I think the moto kits have only long wires | ||

Most kits are the same, there should be no difference, just bulb type. The xenondepot kit is the only one that I have seen with 6ft. of wire in between the bulb and ballast. You have a lightning though. You'll have to get creative where you put your ballasts. Firebolts have more room around the battery then lightnings, so I lucked out. | ||

Yea only difference is the wiring length. The Lightnings are easy, just shove them under the flyscreen.  | ||
