Tried to find my post about service to put this in but couldnt...?

Anyways...

Is there a good order? I am finally getting to my 5000 tomorrow.

For example should I adjust the clutch and primary chain while doing the tranny oil as they require (do they? need to reread the manual, I know all 3 require you to use one gasket, cant recall if its the same or different parts) etc... etc...

Or can I just go down the list, finishing each and then moving on.

And also (was in my last thread but cant find), it was the two drain bolts and the clutch cover screws that should be made tight and not followed with the manuals torque settings, correct?

correct do not follow Tq spec in the book, it's way too much for the drains. that is unless you like stripped stuff!

There was another thing that was said to be over spect'd for Tq in the book as well... I want to say clutch cover screws but I cant recall (or find that thread).

Good and snug works for me on those screws and the drain bolts. To be honest, it works great on most fasteners on the bike. I would only worry about the torque on the axle and the sprocket inside the primary.

Thanks Froggy...

Anyways back to my original question, is there a good order to do things so as to not have to open something twice etc... or just go one at a time, finishing each before the next?

The only thing I can think of that would be done twice, would be the clutch adjustment. Since you are opening the clutch cover anyway to refill the primary, might as well do the adjustment while you are there.

Thanks! One more quickie...

Is it okay to use a pitbull stand to hold the bike while doing the primary refill or is that not close enough to perfectly straight (rear wheel is a bit higher)?

Got side tracked Friday, work at 3:30 Monday and Tuesday so should be able to get it all done Monday morning worst case drag over to Tuesday then a LONG ride Wednesday to "break her in".
