tankbag! too big for the jacket.i 'd hate being stranded and just need a bit of wrenching to get moving.so i pack it and some cash and a proper screwdriver in the bag,and a big bottle of water,spare helmet shield and gloves | ||

I have about the same stuff but I use a Klein Tool 5139 tool bag. It fits, just a bit snug, under the seat and is very durable. I bought the cheesy Buell Stow-n-Go bag and the zipper ripped out the first time I went to close it. The LAST thing I need in the middle of the night, on a lonely highway, is a collection of 20 tools loose with no place to put them. I carry, in the side bag, an Aerostich Fleece Bag loaded with first aid kit, air gauge, spare clear visor and all sorts of "what if" stuff. | ||

As Buell dealers can be few and far between, one of the things I carry with me is a 'Cliff Notes' version of the shop manual. As (hopefully) the most likely issue on the road would be tire problems, I went to the service manual and wrote down the torque specs and loctite colors for front and rear axle removal. Same for brake calipers, ect. And a listing of oil filter part number, spark plugs, and so on. Single sheet, kept with the registration and insurance. |
