on my 2nd rear.the metzler was a great tire. flat spotted rather fast.super adhesion--great tire. new tire is continental sport attack. 3 tanks of fuel and no strip issues.looks great,feels good dry and in the wet.in a couple weeks will get a matching front for it. | ||

The Diablo Rosso is a pretty grippy tire on dry pavement. I'm extremely happy with them. I gotta wait a few more months until I can try them out on a wet road. Scorpion Syncs were my favorite until I tried the Red Devil. My XB just seems to like the Pirelli profile over the others. My old Kawi Zephyr prefered metzler. I just swapped out my Michelin Pilot Road 2 for a new one. Put about 12K on the one that came off and still didn't look too bad. It would have stayed on longer except I leave for a 2 week road trip on Friday. The old tire may have been OK, but I didn't really want to be in the TN mountains in the rain on a tire that is down to the cords. | ||

Corsa 3 is what I am running and I like the tire alot over the Dunflop they are light years better | ||

I like the Pilot Road 2's. Like them a lot. The handling leaves nothing to be desired at anything resembling reasonable speeds on the road, and some guys have reported using them on track days with good results. After about 25,000 miles on soft sport tires, I finally realized that they offer more traction than is really ever required on the street, at the cost of very limited tire life. Sifo reports 12,000 miles on his Pilot Road 2's. I would be very happy with half of that. | ||

I have 5376 on my orig. "T"s thats probably rare. I dont flog every gear but I am not afraid to. I have only about 1/8 in of the "chicken" strip left on the rear. I havent found a corner sharp and safe enough around here to do more. I was just going to buy same ones or second choice Pilot Powers. Maybe vice versa on that choice | ||

on my 08 xb12r i got a little over 7k on the rear and the front is now done at 12,500 i think thats the deoblows or some thing. im going for the doule compound tires next | ||

+1 on Pilot Road 2's! I really like mine and the guy behind me last night was telling me to get more aggressive with body positioning as I am close to dragging pegs  ... And I love to open it up on the exits, they grip just fine... I do however want to try something sportier next time, thinking about the BT-016. Front is dual compound, rear is triple (hard center, medium next to that then soft sides, while the front is medium center and soft sides)... Hopefully would give true sport tire confidence (I want to hit the track sometime soon) as well as no flat spots. I ride mostly in the twisties but I do an occasionaly long road trip and thats how I killed the OEM tires. 1600+- mile road trip, they were fine until I headed home on Highway 5 (rest of the 5 day ride was backroads) from LA and they went from looking GREAT to being flat spotted. I guess thats what 5 hours at 90mph does . | ||

I had a brand new Dunlop D208 on the rear when I bought my bike. 2400mi later..........ITS JUNK! Don't know what I'm getting next. | ||

I like the Conti Road Attacks as well, cheap tires, great wet and dry, and get pretty decent mileage for a sport tire...upwards of 3000 miles. I'm on my 5th or 6th set. Tried the Pirelli Corsa III's last year, great dry traction, but slips alot in the wet, it would be a great track day tire, but the mileage isn't in the tire, got around 2500 on the rear and not much more than that on the front. | ||

Have around 3000 on my stradas. commute 27 miles each way to work every day. no flat spot yet. In the twisty stuff i've never felt them slip out. | ||

I'm currently running diablo rossos front/rear. I am on my second Rosso Rear, the first lasted 5k (I am a bit ham fisted though). The front is about gone with ~7500 miles on it. Never had a problem with traction, even before being fully scrubbed. | ||

Not trying to hijack the thread here, but I have just ordered a set of PR2s and the rear was delivered today via UPS. How many of you with PR2s had them delivered to you rather than the dealership? Any shipping damage concerns or is it usually a problem (with any tire)? When I look at the inside of the tire, it has a pretty uniform pattern to it. However, there are what look like ridges...or speed bump looking humps that run perpendicular to the direction of the tire (90 degrees, same as the carcass-ply). There are 4 or 5 of them and they are not evenly spaces out. My concern is the shipper may have flatend or squished the tire...you know, cause they are soooo careful with our stuff. Any ideas? | ||

I have never had an issue with tires getting shipped. I just give them a quick glance over to make sure no obvious damage. | ||

Yeah, I think that I am putting too much thought into this. My main concern was that someone in the shipping chain decided to throw a 200lb package on my new tire and since my life is riding on this tire (no pun intended), it had me worried. I think I am over that now; I will just ride it and see what happens. |
