my "new" BUELL came with full D&D exhaust, and alittle scratch and dent discount....scratched bikes are cheaper anyway, but here is the new "points" cover I just put on.

That's not a D&D exhaust, it's a Micron. Sorry to say, you are going to have a hard time finding a replacement for that banged up header. |

So where's the derby cover that the title states? |

Sorry it was a late night, meant points cover, and yes it is micron, I was looking at the d&d website and typed what I was looking at, the header looks bad but it is scratched more then dented |

That's a one of a kind. My design, Mike Norris of Norris Performance made it for me. |

I like this Buell Pegasus., because it is cast aluminum, and the curved shape goes nicely with the engine cases. It was an accessory produced before the XB line came out, in 1999 if I recall. Got it on eBay. I painted it with the Buell Magnesium touch up spray paint, and drilled out the rivets, and replaced them with stainless 10/32 Allen head bolts. |

You can try putting water in the header and freezing it. I had GREAT results doing this on a dirt bike header. Put just enough water in to cover the dented area and leave the ends UNPLUGGED! Throw it in the freezer, repeat until dent is completely out. ac |

I have also frozen my dented 2 stroke dirt bike exhaust with good results. Will it work on the these headers? |

Really, freezing will work? Wouldn't the ice expand towards the opening without applying outward pressure on the dent? Interesting...I'm going to need to think on this one...lol. |

the ends will freeze first and cap it in. when the middle finally freezes (it'll freeze last) it expands in every direction due to..... some valence electrons molecular mum-bo jum-bo |

Those are timing covers! "Derby" covers are on the primary side of tubers and Harleys, covering the clutch. |

Freezing works. I was skeptical so I tried it. Figured there wasn't much to lose, the headers are already dented anyways. ac |
