I have produced a new air-box lid for my 9 that matches the 12 on the dyno and costs a lot less. All you need is a plastic funnel, some patience and petrol-resistant silicone seal. I've called it the Remmurd as it sounds German and was reverse engineered. The funnel is cut off at 55mm diameter and sits flush with the flat surface of the lid where it fits inside the filter and is 5mm below (actually above when fitted) that level at the front edge. I could pretend that that is to encourage flow around the back of the stack, but its really because I can't cut straight. Filling-in the hole in the funnel has no apppreciable effect. |

Martin, it looks like the incoming air now by-passes the filter? |

Nope, its just funnelled down the stack. the filter's still in. |
