I did my five thousand mile service yesterday and there was a rubber hose laying on the rear exhaust pipe near where it exits the head. The hose was almost completely burned through. I traced the hose in both directions. The lower end connects to a fitting which appears to be threaded into the top of the transmission. The fitting is between the starter and the rear jug. In the other direction, the hose travels up behind the rear head around the left hand side of the bike, and terminates near the throttle body. The hose connects to nothing and just lays on top of the rear jug near the IAT sensor. Is this just a transmission vent line? I replaced the OEM line and improved the routing, I just wanted to be sure what it was. Interestingly enough the line was 3/8 and said "oil Pump line" in repeated white writing over the course of the hose. |
