What are the options for getting a tune on an 09 XB12?

Looking to do this over the winter...

Dont want to play around with maps, just want to take it to a dyno specialist and let him work his magic. RC cycles is local and did my dads Road King. With just true dual pipes and an air cleaner he got 10+ HP and foot pounds of torque.

More power would be great but really I just want more power down low.

?? don't know what you're asking. your option would be to take it to a dyno tuner and have him tune it. needs to be someone who knows Buells tho, and "playing around with maps" is what will have to be done in order to tune it. other than static timing, all fuel and timing related tweaks that they would do are done within the ECM maps.

What I am asking is what do I need for the tune.

Most bikes use a power commander or a race chip. Buell's dont work with those.

Buells use ECM spy etc... but I thought the last couple of years didnt work with ECM spy.

That's about it for reliable tuning currently.

You don't need anything, just a tuner that knows what he's doing. He will have what is needed.

Lookin' to put those new tires to the test are ya there fella? +1 Andy. The shop should have the equipment. I was inquiring about mine at Hal's HD, and they said all I would need is an ECMspy cable. They have the rest.

Jraice - Send a PM or put in a call to Terry at JTS Performance. They specialize in dyno tuning the air-cooled Buells and are a BadWeb sponsor. They are located at Infineon Raceway in Norcal, not too far from you.

Heck yeah on JT&S - heck again, if you're at Laguna, come up to Love Shack and MEET AND TALK to both of them!

Awesome! Sounds like JTS is the way to go, still a long way's off but I will keep that in mind for the future.

I am going to get my suspension tuned by Dave Moss next week and then performance wise the bike will be set for now and I will go work on the most important performance part, the rider. Tomorrow I hope to get some good riding in, I really feel like I can take it up just a little bit with these new tires, they just feel so much more happy to lean then the OEM's.

I contacted xopti about my 09. He said the standard ecmspy cable works but I may need to get maps from ohio sportbike.

worth checking out i guess...
