Had a buddies 07 XB12Ss out - he was concerned that the exhaust valve in the muffler wasn't working. Went through the factory test (throttle wfo, key on, motor opens and closes the valve), adjusted cable as per factory specs, checked ecm for codes (none), etc. Left airbox off and went for a ride. For the life of me I couldn't see that actuator moving the cable. I experimented with a wide range of rpm and throttle positions and still that arm didn't move? Any thoughts? Anyone else had a look while riding to see what was going on? I know what it is supposed to do and why, but can't figure out why it is not moving when everything checks out. Bike is low mileage (2000mile) all original. Bike has lots of power and runs smooth. |

When I had one it would open up just whacking the throttle for a second. Sounds like something is not right. |
