I have a 03 xb9r that was running fine for a 100 mile ride the other day. I parked it for about 4 hours then went to start it and the fuel pump does'nt come on. Fuses all appear to be OK, engine cranks over fine. Not sure if its related but also noticed low beam headlight not working now either, just had the upgrade done on lights a few months ago. I've done some searching on here, but any ideas would be appreciated. |

I would check the fuses for continuity. I had a jet ski that used the same type fuses. A fuse went bad (had a hairline crack). It looked like a good fuse, and sometimes worked, but most of the time it did not. Took me forever to find it as the problem. |

Check your wiring harnesses for chaffing as well. Some people have reported this. |

Get one of these from Snap-on, and then you can test the fuel pump directly from the connector. You may find something similar at an auto parts dealer.

Good call Thatman... Use it to work on the breaks in the harness. |

The bike shouldn't turn over if the kill switch is off...sounds like a wiring issue. |

I found it last night. It was a bad ignition relay. Swapped it out and everything good now even the low beam. Thanks for the quick responses, this board is for sure the place to come for ideas. |
