Anybody here ever add some useless bling lights to their bike? I've been toying with the idea of adding some light under my translucent plastics or some kinda bling. Pictures? (Message edited by California69gs on June 21, 2009) |

Don't have pics, but I did see an XB with lighting around the inside perimeter of a translucent blue airbox, pretty sweet glow at night IMO. Have also thought about a colored led up inside the air scoop but have never seen this done. |

Well I'm not sure what kind of light kit to use. I've got the trans red plastics and would love to get some glow on my baby. Even if it is bling. |

You'll have to check local laws regarding that. Some places red or blue lights of any kind are illegal whereas in other places they are only illegal if they flash. |

Red is not illegal anywhere...every vehicle has red tailights! Most states require all red lights to be rear facing. Also, the only forward/side facing lights can be headlight/fog lights and orange lights. Most states do not allow blue anywhere on non emergency vehicles. Check your local laws... |

da rules: no blue lights anywhere no red lights in the front on the other hand.... you can have any color lights (red or blue) but when your riding they must be off, ya know? has to do with emerengcy vehicles.. when you're parked you can show em off

Ive ridden by state troopers at night with those lame blue tire valve stem lights. They haven't cared yet! If they do pull me over, I will asked if they noticed me, when they say yes, I will respond with "Thank you, that means the soccer moms on the cell phone did too, give me my ticket, and hopefully more will notice and not run me over before the court date" I have been thinking of putting LEDs all over, just haven't gotten around to it. |

BoogeyLights! Expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. The individual LED's don't show - only the glow. The first four pics show bulbs because they were taken with no engine or plastics. I have since added a strip under the belt guard that lights up the rear sprocket and wheel really well. No pics of that though. |

"That looks sweet, can we get a link?" "How does it look under the plastic?" That's an X1 - no translucent plastic I do have a '99 tank cover though with the "nostrils" in it and LED's glowing out of each nostril. It looks tits at night! The UV light makes the orange plug wires light up like freakin road flares. The pics don't show it very well though, and they make the light look blue. In person it's just like a blacklight. Just found these pics too. I had an orange set of boogey lights on my other X1 for a while but didn't like the way orange light looked against orange plastics. Boogey's website will tell you this too, but the purple (UV) lights are the least bright out of all the colors. They color is amazing IMO, but if you want the brightest ride at bike night, go with another color.

Here are a few pics of my 07 Valencia Orange SCG with LED's in the airbox and below the rear shock. I got the LED kit from Boogey Lights. Then I upgraded to get the wireless remote that has 3 stages. The first stage has 4 settings of brightest to dullest. The second stage has a breathing affect that slowly goes from bright then dulls to out then back up. (SWEET) Then the third stage has 3 different strobe patterns. I'll try to figure out how to download a video of the sequences. I also drive with them on since it's legal in Pennsylvania.

Kev that's awesome! I bet the airbox lights look sick when they're "breathing" |

I like that last set. Was it hard to wire up? I'm not sure if I should use a red LEDs or white under my plastics to get the best glow effect. |

Wiring up the LED's was pretty easy. Here's their address www.boogey.com They have diagrams and installation videos that are very easy to follow. I used the Cut N' Click kit in orange. As for the brightness that everyone questions with LED kits online, these are plenty bright and work great. Here's a few more pictures to prove it.
