i just recently saw the post of the exhaust valve being wired open and looked in to other posts about exhaust valves and noticed that these bikes have a cable running to the actuator box(i think)which is right above the air box. my bike dosent have that cable running from it. where did it go? maybe the previous owner took it off ? idk where does the cable run? so i can see if its just stuffed away some where on the bike |

The actuator is bolted on top of the inner air box. The cable runs in the channels right next to the fuel vent line. It crosses over to the right side of the bike somewhere above the starter, then runs down the right side then hooks to the valve on top of the muffler. Sounds like yours is gone. Still have a stock muffler? |

where on the muffler is the exhaust valve? On the stock muffler... Where ever that is. Race can has no valve. |

I've heard the race can has a mid-range flat spot, but have not ridden one myself. Have you got the race ECM? If not you are missing some power. I would guess that your bike had the whole race kit though. Muffler, ECM, and Air Cleaner. The Muffler is the hard piece to come by. $$$ |

I believe the race ECM is stamped "Off Road Use Only" or something to that effect. The Race filter as I understand it is just a K&N that can be cleaned and oiled with the K&N recharge kit. The stock filter was a paper element filter. Hopefully someone will correct me if any of that is wrong. |

I guess you could plug in ECMSpy and read the model. I don't know what else would identify the race ECM. |

Thanks alot guys. I took a look at the ECM and I said race use only, I reckon that's it. Idk about the filter I've seen it a hundred times I just can't remember if of is the cleanable type. I really apreciate it guys. I was afraid I was missing parts and loosing power. |

The race pipe has a flat spot in the power curve from about 3000 to 4000 rpm. It sucks. As for the filter, there are 3 versions of the race filter. One looks exactly the same as stock, another that looks like stock but with a black rubber piece instead of blue, and then the last one is red and looks like a K&N, because it is. |
