Anyone know how to bypass the nuetral switch so I can start my bike by just pulling in the clutch if i'm in gear? I can start it without pulling in the clutch if it's in nuetral already, but hoping to be able to start it anytime even if I'm in gear. Thanks for the help. |

My bike (stock) starts in any gear if the clutch is pulled in. I am guessing your problem is not the neutral switch but the clutch switch. |

Got ya jraice. My bike has never been able to do it if I just pull the clutch in. It's an '09 so that may be the issue. My old '06 bolt had no problem starting with just the clutch in. So I'm wondering what they might have changed to make mine do this? |

From the '09 Owners' Manual NOTE: Buell motorcycles feature a starter interlock. Before starting the engine, all the following conditions must be met. Engine OFF/RUN switch on right handlebar control group must be in the ON position. Clutch lever must be applied (pulled-in) before starting motorcycle in gear. Note that it is not necessary to apply clutch lever before starting the vehicle in neutral. Sounds like you need to talk with your dealer and get that fixed. |

I agree sounds like a clutch cable adjustment is in order. |

I was just thinking the same thing archangel. I've been in my service and wire manuals looking at wiring and just decided to call my stealership to make an appt. It's under warrenty so might as well let them touch my bike finally. And icunh.... If you missread archangels post, it's ok. But if not, WTF you talking about? Adjusting clutch? You think that a mechanical problem could cure an electrical issue? Guess there's a first for everything? Because sadly, a miss adjusted clutch would be a problem at the release point, not when you pull it. Thanks for the help guys. |

My bad, I was thinking you were pulling in the clutch lever but the cable, needing adjustment, was not engaging the clutch. Therefore the bike would not start because technically, the clutch was not pulled in. I read archangels post ( especially the part about the clutch being pulled in to start in gear). Good luck |

My bad lcunh. I re-read my last post. I sounded like a D-I-C-K. I actually figured it was just a miss-read mistake by you. So no biggie. Got an appt for Friday to get her looked at. Guess we will see from there. Thanks again, guys. Never seems to amaze me the amount of help badwebbers can be with solving other peoples problems. From quick fixes to guiding hand. Bad webbers are awesome friends to have. |

The clutch switch is up on the lever perch. Make sure its plugged in an engages right. I had problems with mine too and all it took was a wiggle to get it to work again. |

Tried it nik. Think of it this way, I've gone through all the usual subjects to make sure nothing was disconnected. Then I was gonna move onto figureing a way to bypass the safty if there was one. Then realized that there wasnt any safty in the first place. Bike is only 6 months old. Now shes stealership bound. Simple solution. |
