I have an issue with my bike not starting. Turn on key, hit start button,and NOTHING. Yes my kill switch is on. I have power to the gauges and light comes on, no clicking or anything when I hit button. I installed a new battery, check fuses, relays, wires under realy box. What else am I missing? Please help, I cant stand not ridding.  | ||

Check the wiring diagram in the factory service manual and check the starting circuit out. May be something as simple as the start button in the handlebar is the problem. You seem to have covered most everything else, And if it's the bike in your profile, your warranty may still be in effect. Couldn't hurt to use it if your bike is still covered. Dave | ||

When you toggle the kill switch, do you hear the fuel pump prime and the check engine light comes on for a few seconds? | ||

Yes, make sure you have documention/recepts in case they dispute the service. If your issue is nothing related to the oil, then they shouldn't even mention the it in the first place. | ||

Some batteries are sold but not fully charged. Load test the battery before you do anything else. If it's not a factory battery, make sure it has the correct CCA (i.e., 200). | ||

ALIGHT! Figured it out. Loose connection on the clutch lever. NEVER had to pull clutch in before, now I have to. Had a loose connection all along. Thanks all for you help, I really appreciate it. Will use posts for future problems, although I hope I wont need too. | ||

I was going to suggest checking that, for some reason on my way home tonight it stalled at a light (my clutch needs adjustment), and when I pressed the starter it was as if the kill switch was off. I resqueezed the clutch and it started fine. | ||

If it is in Neutral, the starter should crank without having to pull in the clutch lever. If it doesn't, there might be a problem with diode #2 (or wiring from the Neutral Switch to the fuse block) that is a part of the Starter Interlock. There are two diodes in the Fuse Block and the arrow on both diodes should be pointing left. | ||

Well I jiggled the plug, fired up with no clutch jiggled it again, had to pull clutch in, so probably wire in there? |
