Ok, before you blast me off the board I have been away for awhile on tour of this very sandy land called Iraq… Can’t find the threads with examples of XBs that have halogen lights. Looking for the complete guide.
Also posted a question in the vault about Mobil 1 oil filters, please take a look.
Relocated to Blaine, MN. That means one less Buell in the Olympia, WA area.
I live in Richfield, Chad. Welcome home!!! I'm goin in to the Army recruiter on Saturday..... If ya wanna ride around let me know- as for the headlight ???'s no help there, but I can tell you where to get the best cheeseburger in MN! The Nook-
yeah Minnesotan bikers are weird. None of them will wave first, and personally I get kinda sick of waving and not getting waved back at so I don't always either. The old guys on their blvd cruisers NEVER wave.
I'll wave....sh!t, I wave at buellers out of my CAR WINDOW!!' they probobly think I'm wierd...... Anyways, Andy-my bike got picked up from my roomate today. The shipper put it in a wharehouse untill next week- unbelievable! I get home tomorrow. The bike isn't registered, the plates are AZ from 05, so I'll probobly just ride close to home till Monday when I can get new plates. I can not risk getting it impounded on it's first day in MN
- There was a thread (year or two ago) about changing over XB9r/12r to HID and can't find it! If anyone can still help me out.... Andy- agree, mostly blvd cruisers and am I one of about six guys in the state that wears a helmet, jacket, and gloves??? Jake- Off to the recruiter on Saturday? Are you enlisting? Send me a PM if you are so we can start your career off right! (inside scoop
Ready to ride anytime men but this weekend is out... motorcycle maint. and yard work this weekend! - Chad
Funny you mentioned the biker wave thing in Minnesota. We had the Harley and the City-x up there a couple summers back and spent about a month riding around the Twin Cities, Duluth and the Iron Range. The selective waving was most common in the western suburbs for whatever reason. There, on the Harley, most of the cruiser people waved and occasionally a sportbiker would. But on the Buell, only sportbikers waved. Weird. B.
That is funny. Here in NC, from what I've seen, if you're on 2 wheels--you wave. Doesn't matter. Very rare that you come across somebody that doesn't wave.
yup, we're in NW burbs...so that's us :-p I try to wave at all bikes, but like I said...gets old not being waved back.
Chad I wear ATGATT- leather jacket, gloves, helmet, jeans and boots. I can not believe the number of tools I see riding around on GSXRs and the like with helmets hanging off the side while they wear shorts, tank top and flip flops! oh well, I don't ride to "look cool", I ride because I really enjoy it...and I want to be riding for a lifetime. maybe that's the difference between us and them?
Hard to get use to the non-waving, cool guy thing here. Did see a nice young man on a GSXR with a mohawk and in flip-flops off 113th last night on my way home.
Zat, I will assume this is your bike. Is it winking? If it is loose connection then I would say no steady current. Something connected or drawing on that side?
Not mine, just video I found on youtube. The first video has a link that shows step by step how to do it. The second video...well I was just wondering?
It's a headlight modulator. It's supposed to make you more visible during the day. I think they look dumb, but that's just my opinion. I saw a v-Srtrom with it the other day, and well...it looked like something that would be on a V-Strom.
Come to think of it, I agree. Everyone was watching the stupid headlight (which I guess is what it's supposed to do- draw attention to the bike) and not the road.
