Hi all, My first time posting so bear with me haha. I'm looking to get some storage on my 2005 XB12R. Really tired of the backpack all the time. I was thinking of a tank bag and was looking for some suggestions. Hoping to fit a weekend's worth of clothes in it with a little space for phone charger/ipod/toothbrush and what not. Do either of the Buell Tank Bags have enough space for that? Any suggestions/comments greatly appreciated! |

If you're an efficient packer you should be able to fit two changes of warm(er) (couple pairs of jeans, t-shirts, etc) weather clothes and sundries into an expanded Buell tank bag. A potentially more expensive, but versatile, option would be saddlebags (you can get generic soft sportbike bags cheap - I paid $60 for a pair with an attached tailbag that was good for a week's worth of clothes a few years ago) or a Ventura rack (I loooooove my Firebolt's Ventura rack+bag). |

Thanks for the info. I checked out the Ventura racks but I won't be able to do any longer trips for a couple years so i figured i didn't really need one. A weekend trip is really all im looking at doing. Again, thanks for the info! |

I've got the Buell tank bag and you can fit a weekend of clothes in it. I took a nearly week long trip and added a Ventura rack before that. Much nicer than strapping that bag on and off. Now I leave the rack on and leave a bungee net on to carry stuff. |

I'm going with the Joe Rocket Space Pac for the tail bag. Newenough just had a sale on a tank bag that people liked for only $15 so I've ordered one of those. (I ship to my bro stateside, he brings it back so I haven't seen it yet.) If it won't go in those and pockets, it aint coming with me. |
