I was asked how far the bike is along. well the engine just went together. a few parts are still to be swapped out then it can be finished up. its being set up with two different suspensions one road race one drag race. pics are of road race. with hyperpro stuff. it will have a full body kit from grandstand designs in black. xb9 build with xb12 header,intake parts. as well as xb12 side covers. this is a ebay finds and friends build. completely from loose parts. bought one part at a time. engine is 11.5 :1 compression stock bore very high dome pistons. light top end work new tappets comp cams and race ignition. ecm will be dyno tuned and track adjusted. to max hp went with a white frame to be different. dyno numbers will be soon. mike

Wow, thats awesome! Looks like you know these bikes pretty well. You still running pump gas in that thing? |

I can't wait to see your dyno numbers either. Also, has anyone dyno'd a stock XB9 for rwhp? I keep looking for a figure but haven't found one. The reason I ask is because I want to compare apples to apples when looking at the figures for various engine mods to the 984 motor. |

the white bike will have to run on race gas. i make my own parts on the body air boxes. a special epoxy for plastics. avg 984 xb9 dyno. 74/79 hp mid 50's tq on a stock bike. i changed laptops and didnt save all the dyno runs in the winpep7. i have a modified xb9 data from the polished xb9 from the stock bike runs i gained 9 hp and 10 tq but gained most down low. this is with mods very simple bolt ons and tuning.i can post that new data. and if i can find the dyno print outs i made i can scan that in as the before as proof. these two datas are before and after on reworked ecm's. this shows what you can do with time adjusting the ecm by following the guide. |

in the below its in seconds to spool up as you can see it is faster in the one run with longer pauses between gears and it still finished first. the bike reached 136.31 mph due to gearing. i can push aprox 10 more mph out of it but thats it. the is my street xb9 not the race one its not done. the mods were done on both runs. just tuning on this sheets with mods added. Thanks Xoptimizedrsx. That is some good baseline info. When I get to the point when I am ready to do some mods my general goal is to find some significant power gains without compromising(too much?) reliability and the quick revving nature of the stock motor. By comparing the different mods people do with the data they share it helps me form an idea of what I may want to try. Good luck on the track and I look forward to what you share. |

What I like about the XB9 is it is still a viable bike for bragging rights on track days. Maybe not the best for all out racing, but capable of a lot and a challenge for me to get the most out of it. With a long enough straight I do find the upper speed limits which is really the only reason I would want a little more power. |

Could you please post your bar width for the clip-ons? How does your Hyperpro work for you on the road race machine? Settings? Sweet bike. |

hyperpro are working well for us. settings depends on weight and oil type. my bars are stock type r bars mike |

What is stock width. I don't have a chance to measure a firebolt. I don't have any near me. |
