The 9 would be the most practical - and is probably my next purchase bike wise unless Erik surprises us with something really new in July/August. EZ |

Depending on your commute the R's are a little hard on the wrists especially if you are a taller rider. Before you wander off into the other brand sunset you should ride an 1125 R or CR. Not as raw as the Sportster based engine and with a bit more kick. |

The thing to remember is these motors smooth out a lot after they break in. I bought my XB9 with 3300 miles on it. It smoothed out after 5k from when I got it. |

My ownership experience: Hinckley Triumph- twelve years, five models, one single failure (bad relay). Buell- twelve years, four models, multiple failures on every one except my '08 XB12R. In my garage now: '09 Street Triple R and '08 XB12R. Conclusion: Triumph has been the most reliable motorcycles I've owned, Buell the least. However, there will always be an air-cooled Buell in my garage (and maybe a liquid-cooled one if the 1125 is redesigned). There's just something about Buell you can't get anywhere else... but refinement is not part of the package. There is not a Buell model comparable to your Sprint, so you need to give careful thought to what you really want. |

I second the Triumph reliability. I had a 98 Sprint for 6 years before the Uly. The only thing I had fail was the ignition pick up. The 06 Uly at 10K so far so good. |
