After dropping it at 20MPH mine peeled right off...lol. The rubber boot is removeable, but a pain in the ass to get off. The peg it slides over is molded onto the shifter. What you doing? |

Yes. A careful application of BF (brute force) by pulling and turning. Better solution is to cut it off. |

I want to powder coat the lever. but it sounds like if I remove the rubber boot it won't go back on properly. |

It may...I would personally buy a couple from the dealership. See if the powdercoater will tape off that nub before they coat it. The rubber boot slides all the way to the arm of the shifter if I'm not mistaken. Or get the black lever from Precision Eng.... |

I may just do the pegs/heel gaurds. It looks like it won't get done today anyway. It's going to have to wait until after vacation...to many last minute things. |

Half of mine had worn off, the rest slowly gets smaller by the day. I might just have to get it powdercoated when the rest wears off |

It will probably be a winter project, I want to tear the thing down to the last bolt and do the whole bike. I will be in touch, I will probably experiment with getting some small stuff done before going all out. |
