You know the hood in the low beam light on an XBR... I have noticed that when I sit on my bike the line that the hood produces raises. This indicates that the rear sags more than the front. I haven't checked the rear preload setting (I'm pretty sure it's set for my weight which would put it at the highest preload setting) so I don't think that's the issue. I think the issue is that I'm a bit heavier than the "target" rider (~215 w/ gear). Sooo, here's my question... Is it a good idea to lower the front preload? What about shims for the rear spring to increase the preload there? What about the "heavy weight" rear springs that are sold by ?American Sport Bike? Is a diet my best option (I could probably lose 20#)? At first thought I would guess that lowering the front preload is best, but the bike already dives a little more than my uninformed and inexperienced mind tells me I want it to dive. Any thoughts? |

if you really want to set your sag correctly. you need to set front and rear it is I believe and marcus can correct me if I am wrong 1" or 30 mm of sag. or anybody else that may know for a fact...I am about 85% sure I am right |

10mm of that would be static sag with just the bike yes? That indicates that I need to lower the front preload, but I already think it dives too much for my liking. Granted, my liking is secondary to good handling... |
