I picked up a set of darkhorsemoto sliders, and they are well worth the money. The time i would spend looking for parts to make a home made set work far exceds the cost of the set i bought from them (time is worth money). We have a full machine shop on base and i still would rather pay for a set. making drawings for the guys just takes too long... The EcoSliders dont cost much, but you dont get a selction of colors like the skateboard wheels. |

I almost bought the ecosliders last week but saw the skateboard wheel idea on here. I have nothing against darkhorse at all and dont think its a bad price for custom made stuff. I know I couldnt set up my lathe and cut out some myself for that price. I just think the skate sliders look cool, are quite unique, and should do the job, and I can build both sets for 25 bucks. |

Hey Skully, looks like there is a market for some bright flashy sliders, maybe some of the blues, reds, and ambers to compliment the plastics on the buells....... |

Not only is DarkHorseMoto, LLC a BadWeb sponsor, the products are Pro quality, and Keith is a good guy too. |

I bought some spitfire skateboard wheels real cheap and can mod some sliders for probably 20-25 for front and back. But, I am getting two different opinions but really no evidence supporting either. Some say it works and some say they will stick instead of slide. Im looking for someone with actual experience wrecking with the skateboard sliders.. anyone? I dont see anywhere in the original post where he asks a question about getting darkhorse sliders.Stay on the subject people while darkhorse make good products some of us like to be unique. Those are the same ones I put on my 03 Gentleman_jon but they where the white ones. |

Very True fastxb12r I didn't.Haha Im going to go my own way (usually the best path) and see how it goes. I agree that some colored delrin sliders to match the bikes would be cool. |

I just mounted some 2" casters on front and back. They slide a helluva lot better than stupid delrin. Just wait, Imma run Dark Horse outta bizness. ~SM |

For realz only sponsor sold products work.... unless they're selling right side air scoops, those don't work and will cause your fuel lines to freeze in 90deg weather. But, seriously , I do love my Dark Horse Moto sliders and I've used them, worth every penny. However, I don't think skate wheels will catch. Any situation that would cause them to catch and flip the bike would most likely do the same whether they're made of delrin, aluminum, or your granny's false teeth. |

Although I have Darkhorse sliders on the race bike, I think it would be neat to craft some custom ones from skateboard wheels. Just need to make sure I get the hardest wheels they make. |

Thats what I did on mine. You can go to a good hardware store and buy these black snap in plugs to fill the hole so you can't see the nut holding it all together.Finishes it out very nice.May have to do a little filing on the plugs to clear the low profile self locking nuts and add a little glue.Have mine own for 8000mi.Not crash tested as of now. |

I have darkhorse sliders on the back of my race bike and home made skate wheels on the front and have crash test several times at 60ish mph. both worked as intended but the skate wheels hold up better. i was surprised how fast the delrin wears down. run whatever you want, they both work, i only run the darkhorses on the back for the swingarm stand attachment. |

Either you buy them or you make them but make sure you have them. |

I've lowsided at about 60mph and had my wife run into my bike with the truck. Both without sliders of any kind. NEITHER time did ANY damage to the swingarm or the forks (well one fork bent but no scratches). Use of the frame sliders is all you NEED. I guess it could happen though..... |
