I need to replace the bolts on the fly scrren as they're starting to round out a bit. So I figured I'd change them before it's an issue. Any thoughts to changing them to something other than the hex bolts? Or are the hexz the best? Thanks |

Yup, just did this myself. See thread here and another one here. Basically, those hex bolts are soft and after a bit of use you can round them out if you're not careful. I ran down to the local Home Depot and picked up 4 slotted stainless steel bolts, with 4 rubber washers. Work perfectly. Look for #10-32 X 5/8", stainless steel screws, with whatever head style you prefer (hex, slotted, etc.) |

I replaced most of my torx bolts with Black oxide allen head shoulder bolts. I order them from a supplier at work. But you can get them online from places like Mcmaster Carr. Or just just a search for black oxide bolts. The plastics mount with 1/4-20 thread bolts, as do a lot of the parts on the XB's |

Haven't had problems with my fly screen bolts(yet) however I did observe as Thump4fun pointed out that they seem soft and could easily round. I switch not too frequently but enough between my flyscreen and a Ceebailey's. Samo for my wife Duc but with a ZG ST. Was thinking about swapping out the bolts for Dzus fasteners but not sure what size. http://kurveygirl.com/shop/index.php?cPath=25&osCs id=31f3bcee46f20f0c65ecbd18a6235bfa I think 1/4 turn quick connect cam fasteners would be the hot setup...
