Other than the XB12X(T), has anyone put hard luggage on an XB? I have seen references to some H&B bags but anything concrete is next to impossible to find. |

How about Pelican 1430 top loaders? They're on my XT, but the mounting rack is the same as the X |

Hepco & Becker 30lt Junior Flash On the White Lighting soon to have a Tail Trunk waiting for it to get here. These bag and bracket are for a S model Buell but I made a new front bracket and put them on my XB12STT. Eurotech is the importer BUT you have to order through a dealer as they are Wholesale only. Then be ready to wait a bit it took almost two months for me to get them. OH Yea you lose the rear pegs so no more riders.

They mount to the stock Uly rack. Made the mounting system myself with composite decking stair rail ballusters. Pretty simple and costs about $10.00.

Ive posted on this a couple of times. 2003 XB9S Uly Bags purchased used in BaDWeB classifieds. H&B Brackets purchased at twistedthrottle.com no mods required, total investment about $400.

Hey Coops, those require the stock cheesegrater don't they? I've only seen unclear pics of the bracket and in every one it seems like it wouldn't work with a chopped cheesegrater. Mines chopped that's why I'm curious. |

Ya need the cheesegrater as the rear bracket bolts to it, at least the Hepco & Becker does. Both at the blinker mounts and the tag mount as well. Search Hepco & Becker then you can download the instructions. |

Thanks for responses. Birdy, does a full face helmet fit in a 30 liter bag? |

Nope not at all. That's why I decided to get a 40L top case...same one as on a Uly. Oh Hepco & Becker make a 40L version of the Juniors too. I'd got those but the 30s will do what I need 98% of the time and are a bit narrower. |

Somewhat ugly, but effective. I carried 40 lbs in it this weekend. Worked great http://picasaweb.google.com/Adam.Mirarchi/TopCase? authkey=Gv1sRgCNiH2fOlq5eOrgE&feat=directlink |

Birdy, Do you have any pictures of the brackets you modified to fit this to you STT? I was thinking about ordering them and trying to make them fit my Ss but seeing what needs to be done would be great. -Patrick |

Thepod, is there a write up? It looks like it is just held on by those two bolts. Is that a GIVI or the JC Whitney value version? |

Mine have been on there for over two years. Search is your friend. Did a step by step on the install of the pelicans You will need a cheese grater. the brackets are from H&B, the cases are pelicans.... the top rack is a modified Ventura. The mud was recent

Patrick, I'll get some shots tomorrow of the front bracket I had to make. This is only needed for the XB12Ss or XB12STT and other long versions of the Buell Lighting, the rear mounting fits right up. What it does is move the front mounting point down and back about a 1/2" and changed the angle. The Hecpco & Beaker mount was made for the short Buell and the seat rails are different between the two enough so it won't fit with out this. I can also post a drawing in the flat of what you need. I made it out of 10 gauge steel to try but plan of redoing it with a chunk of 6 gauge (about .2 " plate) so I can use the Lock-It quick locks (like a DUZ 1/4 turn fastener) that came from H & B. |

Thanks Coops. I am just browsing at this point. I long to be Buellified but after having put a top case on my current bike I can't see commuting without one. I was wanting to learn the hard bag options on the XB other than the Uly. I found the H&B stuff and was curious if anyone had other setups. I really like the idea of a Ventura pack with a topcase setup. I don't know if that will work with the H&B racks though. I am still unclear if the Uly racks will work on a XB12Ss or not. I think something will work because Birdy mounted the H&B bags to the XB12TT. (Message edited by MotoRico on May 28, 2009) |

I'll post photos and drawing on Sat. Sorry I had a major computer crash here and am back to using the little back-up until I can get a full reload done on the big box, Lost a Drive from my RAID. All my files are safe I just can't get at them. |

there is no write up per se, but I can post some pics from the underside of the cheesegrater. The mounting plate is bolted on with 3 bolts. Two in the front and one in the back just over the license plate. it is very stable at hiway speed. I carried 30lbs in it for 160 miles without a problem. It is the JC Whitney value version (Message edited by thepod on May 28, 2009) |

ThePod, How much visibility do you lose with respect to your lights? It looks like you may block them with the case. (Message edited by MotoRico on May 30, 2009) |

Yes, they are blocked, but if you look closely, below the license plate I have installed an extra intregrated tail/brake and turn signal light. Very easy to do. Works great and is highly visible. I can post more pics of it if you like. |

On the photos I was to post today...Sorry guys my big computer is toast! The Motherboard fried. Took out all 4 hard drives with it and the CPU and RAM. All in all about a Grand to replace. My little back up I'm on right now doesn't have the stuff to run PRO-E. So I'm on hold until next weekend. I have another computer on the bench I have been working on and the Ram and Hard drives will be here Monday. I have to be In Cinncy all next week for work BUT I'll get those Photos up as soon as I can. Along with the mount for the top case that showed up today! I plan to have this tie into the mount I built for the case mount. Should work out well, I hope! Birdy |

I've got an '08 xb12scg without the cheese grater. I miss my old S3T and like some of the set ups pictured. Do you guys have part numbers for the brackets and any pics of the assemblies themselves, also how about a rear shot of the bikes. I guess I may have to add the cheese grater back on. |
