Ok, so in this thread: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/459977.html?1242742916 it was stated that '03s have a stiffer clutch spring. I asked if anyone knew if it was ok to just swap the spring to a newer one, no one there seemed to know. So I have 2 questions: 10 Is this ok?? Will there be any other necessary changes? any adverse effects? 2) What part # do I need to order? Thanks! -Andy |

turns out that the 'olders' are made too strong (overkilled), it would be fine to swap out with a newer one as they are redesigned to be every bit of strength you need and nothing you dont, no problem swapping IMO. The pull will be much easier on you and help in traffic |

It doesn't mention the XB9 or the O3. Would the new spring work. |

I think that the springs are the same for the 9s and 12s. Someone here knows for sure. Help the guy out. |

If you want to go all out you could put the muller power clutch kit on for 160 bucks I think. Its supposed to nearly cut the amount of force in half. Im thinking of doing it to my 03. |

It's OK - I even went to a stiffer spring for the racebike so I wouldn't get any slippage in a hot-start. Doesn't take that much more "squeeze" effort. Installs just fine. |

Here's the '03 number: 36715-94 SPRING, clutch adjustment Call parts and see if the new number is different. I don't believe they use updated books, it'll be on the computer screen. |

Iamarchangel; the spring you listed is the adjustment spring, didn't change. |

Andy, You don't want to order the 03 spring. That's the one you now have. You want to get one from the new 9. When you order it make sure it is compatible with your 03. I'm pretty sure that it is. |

Yes, Andy, I supplied the '03 numbers so you could compare them to number the parts guy would give you. His book is probably the same as this one but his computer screen should have the updated part on it. Have a look again at the one on Americansportbike.com, I think it's the one we're discussing. It says it's good for '04, you might want to ask if it works on '03. |
