go with the edelbrock, same one that the 'latus' was. i got mine for 25$. but that mandrel 2 inch you speak of, i have a couple, but could not get them to work, its not a sharp enough 90 degree. so i went to my dad (dairy farmer) and he has a TON of 2.5 inch SS and i got him to weld me up a 90, but in 3 pieces to make the tighter 90 that i needed. the only problem with that is Edelbrock stopped making the muffler the Latus was made out of. This is why the Latus is so hard to find. |

very true about that, but im sure there is another one out there that would suit for it. The latus was an edelbrock rpm 5504 muffler, if you called edelbrock im sure they replaced it with a muffler from the sdt line. not sure though. |

Never used them but Flowmaster actually has a custom shop that does one-off jobs. They have a new line of mufflers that someone in their shop actually put on his personal tuber. (tiny pic of it on the site) Even if I don't use their services, I may use their muffler. |

well so far i am in maybe 110 bucks.and dual cherry bombs would just be 2 glass pack mufflers and loud. heres the muffler options cherry bomb/jardine LOL are glass packs flowmaster have no packing and rely on the fact that sound at right angles as i recall, cancel the sound.so bouncing the waves off the welded in baffles changes the sound/muffles it. old style mufflers with various packings to keep sound down to a whisper and not so great at flowing exhaust gases. heading to work in the morning to trim/fab and get it all on and see how it sounds.i'll get it on youtube and post up here. scott |

If you run a crossover with two different length pipes aft of it, you can get a better sounding dual-tone exhaust. Trick is tuning it right. I can't remember who it was overseas that used to do that on sports cars. |

ok heres the deal new muffler is great.loud, but different.i have a lot of popping and snapping but that is how it was before. what has changed is my perception of the engine power/torgue/hp earplugs will be forthcoming. the muffler is perfect for this application. ummm if you use the muffler i listed and the elbow,it will need to be trimmed so make sure you tools to trim it with.you also will need some steel bar and design a mount to the muffler.i;ll snap pics and a short vid for you all later.i am beat it honestly feels more torguey to me,not just a little either |

Is this magnaflow the one with the perforated core? The one in jegs was. IAm wondering though if you could get a small chambered flowmaster under there would it give it a deeper tone? How would you rate the sound of the magnaflow with a jardine? |

yes perf core.it is loud but less so than the Jardine.flowmaster makes a small muffler, maybe 6-8 inches long? i bet it'd be loud as frack tho. i think the magnaflow has changed the torque back to stock-ish levels,it seems to really have low(er) end grunt like it did not have. |

ourdee i have my old one for sale and a guy bought it already,i need to ship monday. so it took almost an hour and a half to do all this.i had to fab 2 brackets to mount to the underside of the engine where the stock/jardine was.and then trim the elbow down and get it to fit the muffler and then trim the top of the elbow to meet the collector and my wide band type clamp.i used a side inlet muffler so the angles of the muffler and down tube of the collector would be inline and easy to connect.and it exits a few inches from the tire.i think i'll make a small deflector just to be sure no addtl tire heating is going on. jardine's are 350ish and the stock is 360--i think this is a great alternative for the cost and if you dont like it still easy to undo and change.i did keep the jardine chin fairing mounts, but i think making one would be easy as well. for a DIY project,it is easy all you need beside minor mechanical skills are a weld or someone to weld for you.total of maybe 10 inches of welding. now to consider rhino lining the underside of the air box cover.maybe the filter housing too,i am sure if the plastic on both is stiffened it will cut some of the intake racket down.i wish i had a way to measure the sound as it goes up and under my helm before and after. |

Nice! The only thing I would change is your videos. warning small rant here: No offense to the above poster, it's a great exhaust. What I hate about most of the exhaust vids on youtube, is the bike sitting, a rev here and there, and that's pretty much it. No real way to hear an exhaust. Get that bike out and do a fly by! Nothing like hearing them at work to showcase an exhaust. Kind of like this old one. http://s53.photobucket.com/albums/g49/glitchster/? action=view¤t=Highway60.flv Now, get out there and ride! rant off... |
