Got the most recent factory flash at my 5k service. Drove about 50 mi to the shop doing 80mph (mostly), tach read 4 grand. On the way home (doing 80mph) the tach showed 3700. Anyone else experience this?

I am thinking maybe the TPS reset would have something to do with that.

Thanks O2, that makes sense. The tech mentioned he'd do a tps reset. I need to do some studying with the manual; ). Lamar, wind was coming hard from the west. I was travelling north and south (I35 in MN between Mpls and Fairbault).

Unless your clutch is slipping wind shouldnt matter...

Gearing is not based on the force. Going into the wind your throttle may be held at a more open level to give more power to fight the wind but X RPM should still be Y speed regardless of wind, road condition, road slope etc...

I bet you made better time going TO the shop. You should also see "better" mpg. ; )

I see you have an '08 so that makes perfect sense. Before the reflash on my '08 I rode across WI with my dad on his bagger, and my odometer always read about 10% fewer miles.

The reflash corrected the out of cal speedo. Same thing happened to me last year. You have been going faster than what was indicated.

Hmm, glad I didn't have the "My speedo said ---- officer" conversation.
