I am experiencing a faint whining from the rear of the bike after about an hour of continuous riding. Ok, so her legs are pretty long and probably one of my favorite of her features so I'm trying to work out the issue.

Does anyone have a good solution to reposition the passenger foot pegs. I've seen some use a set of the rider pegs to drop the platforms about an inch. My only issue with this is you can't lock the rider pegs back when not in use. Another Badweb has fabbed a set for his Ulysses and is selling them, has anyone done the same for the XB?

hey Dlg6c2
im having similar problem
have new style saddle bags ones for xb9-12r and 1125r
unfortunately
nowhere does buell state on website or anywhere else i looked about not having a passenger with bags on
this kind of defeats purpose of bags since me and my girl love taking weekend trips
lastly on my previous owned Road King
the problem is the front portion of the bags
fall a couple of inches in front of the passenger peg
i have N&^%#R rigged them to mount a couple of inches further back on the bike
but still run into a problem as the foot pegs need to be about 1 1/2 forward and dropped a little
if you find a solution let me know ill do the same on this end
tommy

Thanks for the reply Tomzhog. I'm going to try Ulysses passenger foot rests on mine. Paul (Buellgator) at Gainesville Harley confirmed that they will mount right up, will lock back when not in use, drop the foot position about an inch, and provide a wider platform for the passenger to plant their foot on. He also informed me that the price advertised on the buell website, about $93/pr, is only for the black ones. You can get them in the silver for about half the price. You may want to contact him at 352-331-6363. He is great to deal with and often gives a discount for us here at Badweb.

If you bend the plate under the peg the lightning pegs will stay in place.

I'm planning to have some blocks made for LSL footpegs that would drop the passenger position by 1" or a touch more. The drop makes a big difference.

do the Uly peg mounts work on the XB frame really?!? i have thought about doing that on my Ss then adding a 1/2 inch or so to the passenger seat.

I just turned the mounts themselves around. It drops and lowers the pegs about 1-1.5" in each plane.

...no, they won't lock up, but it was free!

If you switch the mounts as Darthane suggests, a little filing on the detent plates for clearance will allow the pegs to fold back and lock up.
And the amount after repositioning is more like 3 inches forward and down.

so what your saying is to take the stock passenger foot beg brackets off where they mount to the subframe left and right, and switch them, so put the left on the right and right on left. then switch the pags back. so the peg brackets are switched but the pags them selves stay on their stock side?

+1 on fliping them.

takes them down and forward. for FREE!

my wife liked it. It does move them closer to the rider's pegs.

...is it really that much? All I know is if I'm not paying attention they get in the way of my heels. I haven't had passenger pegs on the Firebolt for well over a year - the Uly is the only bike that sees passenger duty nowadays, but that's probably a bit more money than you're looking to spend on rider comfort!

I installed the passenger Uly pegs yesterday. Worked like a charm. She now has the ability to brace herself at stops by her own foot power. The Uly pegs are considerably wider as well. All that was needed to bolt them right up was a pair of 7/16" inner diameter washers, 3/8" thick. I definitely recommend this as an upgrade to all those riding XBS 2 up.
