XB vs tubers in 1/4 mile, the XB will win, but it's closer than most other ways of comparison, because the shortness of the XB hurts it in the launch, the 60 foot times. But don't even think about comparing them in a roll-on or anything that involves speeds between 20 MPH and 130 MPH. Stock tuber vs stock XB, or either one with equivalent engine mods. Also, don't ever believe anything Motorcyclist says these days. They have gone over the top with their hatred for Buell, and their reporting is as far from the truth as you will ever see. And, the weight difference between tube frame and XB is definitely there. You need to take two real unmodified bikes with the same amount of fuel on the same day to the same scales, and measure them. The weight difference between R and S might surprise you, because the tubular seat support and plastic is pretty light in comparison those cast tail section pieces. Also the R fairing bracket is magnesium, while the S headlight module is aluminum.

as they (HD) continue to post records among USA corporations for numbers of consecutive quarters of increasing (as in up every consecutive quarter) gains and show unbeleivabel increases in profits, gross and net so I'm dumbfounded as to why Buell hasn't capitalized big time in HD's profits. Because, Rocket, if you won a million in the lottery, would you give your brother HALF? Or just a little? |

We aren't talking 1 million though, are we. We're talking multi-millions of dollars which when you consider how many millions Claudio Castiglioni borrowed from the bank to revive his Cagiva, MV, etc, brands or how many millions KTM have invested to bring their Superbike to fruition or how much Ducati invested to design and build its V4 Desmoquatro GP bike which came 2nd in the championship in its debut season, then I have to question HD's commitment to Buell when it is clear that every other manufacturer having a go with les financial clout can achieve great results in the market place or on the race track with fabulous motorcycles. I question that commitment more so when Court boasts of Harleys massive financial profits in order to sway a discussion wrt which manufacturer gives us a better deal. Better deal for who? The share holders? I consider better deal a better bike. I don't care if Buell build only 100 super specials that fit my wants list, and a special that I could perhaps never afford, I still want them to build it. Harley Davidson could bring to market or race track any bike they wish, which means Buell too. The fact that other manufacturers with less money have done so successfully puts me off the HD \ Buell brand totally. I'll never buy another Harley or Buell until they give me what I want. I want to see Buell in world premier class racing. Something they should be capable of doing, and winning, and Erik Buell's passion can you believe. I want to see Buell make a real fast bike, a Buell Superbike, in their inimitable Buell style. That's what I want, Buell on top of the world and not just relying on satisfying a bunch of patriotic home boys only interested in keeping with tradition. Until then I'm not buying even if I win the fucking lottery. Rocket |

I'd like to see Buell do a World beater racing machine too. I'll be watching AMA Formula Xtreme with interest this year.

Blake does points start at Daytona or after???Cause if they do Hals and Kosco are the only BUELL teams in Formula Extreme this year and neither team will be racing Daytona. So I'm wondering would that screw them up for points. To what I gather they will be back for Fontana. |
