Hey Everyone. I have been following all of your comments for quite sometime, just haven't posted anything. I made the move to a Drummer a couple of days ago and really can't believe what a GREAT pipe this is. Just wanted to pass along a Thank You to everyone that posts comments. It really made my decision easier and the right choice. My ride is a 08 XB9SX and it really made the bike come alive. Anyone out there that is unsure about this pipe should make the move. Wow what a quality job Kev does!!! Tom (Milwaukee, WI) |

HI all, I just picked up my 05 citycross from milwaukee last night. i live in manitowoc so I had a nice ride home om the new to me bike. Tom, did you just add the muffler or was there any other parts/work needed to run the new muffler? |

I know this topic has been tossed around on here a lot, but I know with the new bikes the ecm adjusts to the new pipe. I just sent mine pipe in, got it back, mounted it, and started riding. I believe that there might be some mapping adjustments needed on the 05 models, but I would leave that to the experts on this site. |

no mapping needed, period. It might run a little lean, but lean is mean! |

Maybe I'm wrong but generally, on air cooled engines, lean is not good. Ideal fuel air mixture is a bit rich of full lean. The extra fuel helps cool the engine and lengthen engine life. Extra power may be a sign of a too lean mixture. Sound off if I'm wrong. I'm waiting on a drummer myself. |

what i was told is the best way to see how well it is running is to pull the plugs. it they are black your too rich, if they are white, your too lean if they are somewhat brownish color your burning correctly. |

kevin makes his mufflers specifically so you do not have to do any tuning to make it work. plug and play. enjoy. some tune anyhow, but you don't have to. Ask the man yourself if you want to. |

I have had my Drummer for 2 months now and I know how you feel- totally transforms the bike- the bike pulls from lower down, effectively giving you more revs. |

You'll feel the same way I did when I installed mine a week ago.. "This is how the bike should have performed to begin with!" I'm impressed to say the least. |

Current lead time is one week after he receives your muffler. I just shipped mine over today. Can't wait! |

How long did you guys wait on your pipes? I'm a little impatient. For me it was longer but I told him to take his time as I was gone for 7 weeks but he did it right on time for me to get home and have it on the bike when I get it out. I think the fastest way to get it is to go with American sport bikes (Message edited by js_buell on May 07, 2009) |

I've committed on the Drummer plenty of times, so I'll do it again. If you want your bike to sound like a Buell, gain low-mid range torque, loud but not overly loud, and to have a high craftsmanship piece of work, Buy A DRUMMER! One last thing, it's affordable. |

Mine took exactly two weeks from the day I sent it to the day I got it back. I was like a little kid again tearing open the box when I got home from work. He does a hell of a nice job and like Boney95 said it is affordable along with proven results. |

Can the average guy with the factory service manual pull the stocker off and put this back on? When a person looks at the listings at American Sportbike, will the same muffler work on the 12s/12r as the 12x/12xt? It has been that way in the past, but I noticed my XT has a bit of a different turn on the pipe with a heat shield. I have been wanting the old sound of my 12s with race kit on my new XT since rolling it off the showroom. Since many of you have done this on your 08's now with the new ECM, I may have to take the plunge. I was so worried about not being able to to tune the ECM. Thanks for the input! |

I'm less than average when it comes to mechanical stuff. I didn't need the manuel and other than a bolt I striped it only took a few hours. Most guys seem to say an hour. Plus Kevin (from Drummer) gave me his cell # and told me to call him (on Thanksgiving no less) if I had any problems. Great guy to deal with. Pretty cool IMO that when you call the guy who makes the pipe answers the phone. |
