Maybe a dumb question but, I bought my 2006 xb9sx and it came with the jardine muffler. It says it is the rt one exhaust. How can I tell if it is aluminum or titanium? |

aluminium is soft, take a blade and see if an edge where it isnt visible is easy to dig into.and i thought titanium has a peculiar color .my rt 1 is aluminium.too freaking loud for me though....considering my options.flowmaster or some kind of muffler.the loudness is a pain to me, dont like it at all. |

I was thinking it was aluminum. The first few times I took it out i thought it was too loud. Now I don't and I like it. Have I sustained some hearing loss? I was thinking of getting the quiet insert, is it a waste of money? |

I bought the newer quiet module insert for my rt-1. It made the sound tolerable. It's still loud but not nearly as much ringing in the ears as before. |

Titanium is darker, not polished. |

Doesn't the titanium turn blue? |

Titanium turns blue but I don't think there is enough heat on the outside of the can to make it change. |
