Anyone ever experience anything similiar: I have a 2003 XB9S Lightning. I went out for a ride last week and while coming to a stop (I have the idle set at approx. 1000 rpm.)the revs stayed at about 2000rpm even after rolling the throttle all the way off. The throttle seems fine but I think it may be a problem somewhere in the throttle linkage. I would hate to bring it to the dealer if its a quick fix. |

Turn the idle screw down just a bit and that will go away. |

Check to see if the throttle cable has worked itself into a bind. Also check to make sure the idle adjustment hasn't come loose and is also getting bound up. There has been a mentioned problem of stumbling/backfireing with the idle set less then 1100. |

Happened to me and the dealer replaced the ECU. The bike had only 200 miles on it. |
