I was looking at some carbon fiber frame covers on ebay and on some other bikes. I like the look and would like to protect my frame/tank in case I wreck. Anyone have them? Opinions? Are they worth $200? |

Ya I really like the look to further black out my bike without painting my silver frame. But if the only ones made are crap then I guess I would pass |

i have a set from trojan. i bought them second hand and they are great quality. and fit very well. they have kevlar under the carbon fiber to aid in the protection if the bike were to go down. i dont have first hand experence if they are proven to do as well as frame pucks. im running them more for astetic reasons. |

You get what you pay for. Also look into vinyl wrapping the frame, but I don't think it will be any cheaper than the real carbon because of the amount of material you would need. ______________________ Pwning noobs on a Buell since 2007

I had some on my bike, carbon, from Free Spirits. if they're real carbon, and even better with Kevlar underneath, they really protect your frame in case of an accident. they also protect you from the heat. but don't buy chinese carbon, you would waste your money! |

+1 to kevlar lined... Not from experience with them on the bike but in general, carbon is a very stiff very brittle material. By going with kevlar (flexible yet strong) with a thinner layer of carbon (for the aestetic purpose) you get a semi stiff piece that will still flex on impact and not transfer all the force into the frame, or shatter, like a solid multi-layer carbon piece. |

I have the Trojan set. Ya I really like the look to further black out my bike without painting my silver frame. ...exactly why I got them. Not a close-up, but they are visible in my profile pick. I have the Buell pucks on top of the frame covers. |

I got these ones with the kevlar inserts. http://www.bikepics.com/pictures/1118659/ They were only marginally more expensive than the Japan priced frame pucks and i thought they looked a lot better. I got them from here but they dont appear to be selling them anymore http://www.magicalracing.co.jp/ |
