Hey All...I posted in Knowledge Vault with no response...this group here seems to be faster...I want to make my heel guards white...haven't seen any for sale...would spray paint look ok? Anyone do powder-coating or know of any sponsors who do? Thanks. |

Not to hijack the thread, but does anybody else with the 1" dropped pegs have a problem with the heel guards...missing your heels? While working on my bike the other day I realized that there is a spot on the swing arm where the paint is starting to wear thin and I assume it's from my heel going under the guard and rubbing there. Anybody else had (or fixed) this problem? |

you cant see in my profile picture, but I swapped out the heel guards to some that match the wheels, looks good. Buell happened to manufacture what I have so the paint is spot-on and is powder coated. I wouldnt spray paint your heel guards though, you will probably have to repaint them several times because of the rubbing. |

Xbniner, I have the 1 inch drop pegs and as long as your are riding on your toes than the heel guards hit in just the right place |

I have a small rub spot on my swingarm from the heel of my boot rubbing. It must just have something to do with the size of your foot. I wear an 11-1/2 boot and no matter what I do the heel rubs my swingarm. Sooner or later I'm going to just have to repaint the swing arm because I don't see much of a way to stop the rub. |

I only wear a size 9, so it's when I'm on my toes that the rubbing occurs I think. I'm pretty tall. Oh well. |

If you can do it, go powdercoated. Paint's just going to wear out quicker. Ask Pete (Grandstand) about color anodizing. It's another option - just not in white. |
