Does anyone know what the physical differences between standard height and low forks? Is it something simple like an internal spacer that is present in the standard height but not in the low? Or is the lower slider a different length? I measured the uppers of both, and they were the same size. My wife damaged her forks when she low sided her XB9SL, and I am wondering if I could get a used set of standard height forks and convert them to lows with a little work. |

I think that the lower/cg forks are smaller diameter than non-lower/cg...somebody correct me if I'm wrong of course. -d |

All the Low models are 41mm forks, the 05+ normal models are 43mm, and the 08+ XB12X is 47mm. ______________________ Pwning noobs on a Buell since 2007

So, given that the '03-'04 standard and low forks are all 41mm diameter, what is it exactly that makes them different height? |

Cool Froggy, thanks! note they do have different fork tubes despite them looking the same That's that kind of answer I was looking for I wanted to know if it was a really simple difference, but it sounds like there is more to it. |

Other than part numbers, I couldn't tell you the actual difference. It might be something minor and irrelevant, but I honestly don't know. ______________________ Pwning noobs on a Buell since 2007

You know, I was actually expecting the forks to be much more expensive than $318 each. I don't think it's even worth it to mess around with trying to modify a used set. Thanks again for the info! |

Froggy What is the L1167.1AE SIDESTAND LEG SERVICE KIT please. I've just helped someone get the parts together to do a low conversion on an '04 XB9S. The Sidestand was a L0167.2AE. I thought that that included the recall conversion. I'm hoping it does. |

I picked up the order yesterday. The L1167.1AE was what came. It included the sidestand and the service replacement mounting bolt. |
