Here are some pics and video of my exhaust on the bike as well as the tail chop I just did. I still need to add the brackets for the chin spoiler and do some finishing to make it look purdy.. I used an Eddlebrock RPM 5514 muffler which is the same as the "latus" 5504 with the exception of a flange on the dual outlets. I decided to cut off the dual chamber and just run a single exit that was "GP style", similar to the Jardine GP-1. The tip is a slip fit, so I can remove it for oil changes and not have to worry about oil dripping on the exhaust tip. Sound is a really deep low tone, more like a V8 car/truck engine.
Here is the video/sound clip, the video doesn't sound near as good. The pitch of the exhaust is soo deep and low, the camera/mic didn't pick it up well. Nice work! Do you have a picture of the header to pipe? How did you line up the angle? Trial/error? |

I had to cut the tubing bend and weld it back together at a different angle. The OD of the tubing was also a good 3/16's or so smaller than the ID of the muffler so there was some play going in. It made it easier to line it up, but harder to weld having to bridge the gaps. |

ok question here. has any one heard of tried a flowmaster?i am seriously pondering heaving the jardine.....just too loud.since swapping that with a smaller auto type muffler would be easy,i even have the jardine chin fairing mounts.. thoughts and ideas please... and your set up looks and sounds really nice there !! scott |

I'm thinking about trying the Spintech muffler. It's very industrial looking though. All square corners. The Spintech guys seem to be willing to modify a given muffler to your needs also. Teh - Nice work. May have to look at that myself!! Mike |

Yes, I have seen a few other brand mufflers used for a setup like mine. My muffler has a 3" or 3 1/2" x 7" case and a length of 18 or 19", but I cut a few inches off mine getting rid of that dual chamber.
