I'm just replacing my front isolator due to increased vibration issues I've been having. I opened the manual to check on torque values and noticed that there is a part shown which is missing from my bike. There is an "upper snubber" which seems to sit between the frame and the isolator that isn't on my bike. I see the threads and they look clean like nothing has ever been installed in them. Is it a necessary part, and is it on all models or just some of them? -Patrick |

Anyone? Can anybody else with an Ss just take a peek at their bike and see if it's there or not? Thanks, -Patrick |

My '08 service manual shows an upper snubber. Looks to be a rectangular shaped bracket held on with a countersunk head screw. Mounts between the front isolator bracket and the frame. Just went out and looked at my '08TT, and there is one. Looks to be a rubber 'bumper' about 1/16in thick. If yours is missing, I suspect you will have witness marks on the frame and the top of the front isolator bracket where they have been banging together. |
