I finally had a chance to have my tires installed today... The shop had been holding my Diablo Stradas for 2 weeks now so I went up after my final exam this morning. The owner comes and gets me, says well good news/ bad news. Bike's wrapped up, tires are on and it's almost ready to go. Bad news is that we scratched your swingarm pretty badly. I guess they aren't used to these bikes and had some type of clamp stand that slipped out and gouged the powdercoat. He offered a couple of options which surprised me. 1. Remove and re-powder coat the swingarm. I don't like this all that much because of all the crap that would have to be removed. 2. Have the guy that does his paint work put some red stripes that match the Buell emblems on the airbox which will cover the scratch when finished. I'm leaning towards the second option- any opinions? I'll take some pics later on. |

You can get the matching paint from your Buell dealer. If it were me I'd take it home, sand and paint. Have them pay for the paint and tire install. For what it's worth, I always take just the wheels to the tire shop. It's cheaper too. |

I had the same thing happen, without the nice offer at the end. Next time I'll learn how to take the wheels off myself or the dealer..I think the stripe sounds cool. Maybe one of the guys that's good with photo shop could give you a preview. |

Yes, live and learn. I'll take the wheels in next time. Did some touch-up a la sharpie for now. Sorry about the tiny pics... the forum doesn't like 800X600 evidently.

No girlfriend/daughter/wife with nail polish? Two types of black marker: few are actually black, most have green base. |
